All racers should meet their coaches at the Catamount chair as usual at 9 sharp to ski and then inspect when course is ready.
We will plan on starting the race at 10. There will be 2 timed runs (run without a lunch break)
At the end of the second run, we hope that some parents and coaches will give the course a try- and will have all the racers gathered at the bottom of the course to cheer!! Maybe we can get a group photo then.
After the race, we will meet in the taconic lodge for a pizza and pot luck party/end of year interclub party with awards for all and trophies for race winners. Feel free to bring a dish, beverage, utensils, cups, or napkins to contribute to the pot luck.
We could use help tomorrow with race and party. Please check when you arrive as to how you can help.

U16 Champs @ Jiminy Peak
Congratulations on finishing the season with U16 Championships this past weekend at Jiminy Peak! It was crazy weather on Sunday where it was sheet of ice just to get to the start! With half of the field DNF’ing, it was an accomplishment just to get to the finish!
Great job to Winnie Mann who placed 6th on her 1st run and to Frannie Mann who placed 10th overall in GS on Saturday. And great job to Winnie Mann who placed 8th on her 2nd run in SL on Sunday.
Last weekend training @ Catamount
This is our official last weekend of training for the season! Saturday, let’s train GS on Catamount in the AM and we’ll set a dual GS course there in the PM! Sunday, let’s train SL on Race Slope in the AM and we’ll set a dual SL course there in the PM! Maybe we can get some parents to take on their kids on the course! Of course be mindful of the weather and be ready for any changes due to weather.
Congratulations on your hard work this season!
On behalf of all the U16 coaches, I’d like to extend a hearty congrats to everyone for their hard work this past season. We’ve seen some great improvement in every racer on the team. Some of you really worked on your “mental game”, others were working on their carve on steeper terrain. Some of you really improved your commitment of weight to the outside ski, while others worked on early pressure before the fall line and early release just after the fall line. Some of you really improved your “cross-blocking” while others really improved your pole plants which also helped your timing. What is great to see is how motivated you all are and with such positive attitudes that you bring to the mountain every day of training. It inspires us to work that much harder for you.
Thanks so much to Dusty and the crew for all of their help bringing gates and B-netting up to the top of Lower Alley Cat and Race Slope (they even pre-stage the equipment the night before to help us maximize our training time) as well as their help in setting up fencing and courses and tearing them down.
And finally a special thanks to the parents of our team. You take care of registrations, driving up to the mountain early in the morning and late at night, you make sure that the equipment is taken care of and ready for training and races, you volunteer to set up and break down the B-netting and courses (even in the rain!). It is your support and help that makes our program possible!
Cheers to a great season!
Coach Pat : )
Just notifying you that GS is now Saturday, February 24th and SL is now Sunday, February 25th in case this changes your tuning/waxing schedule.
See you tomorrow am at Jiminy Peak!
“Ski fast…Take chances…”
Just a reminder that U16 Championships are this coming weekend at Jiminy Peak! Registration ends Wednesday, February 21st at noon! For details, click here.
SL will be on Saturday and GS will be on Sunday so make sure that you bring the correct equipment for the right day! Also a reminder to have your skis tuned properly and that you apply the correct wax for warm temperatures (between 35-42 deg F). I suggest something with flourinated wax like Swix F4.
John Thompson (aka Oliver’s Dad) made a reservation for 10 at Patrick’s pub in Pittsfield for Saturday night at 6:00pm.
Looking forward to seeing you all this weekend!
“Ski fast…Take chances…”

Big thanks to Katie and Chris Cashen for hosting the End-of-the-Season Party for Tristate Racers! The food was delicious and it was great to have all the racers and parents under one big tent! I especially love the turn around by the kids with their paper plate awards for the coaches!
Saturday, February 17 – GS Training on Lower Alley Cat; Sunday, February 18 – SL Training on Lower Alley Cat
We will be training GS on Saturday then SL on Sunday in preparation for the upcoming U16 Championships @ Jiminy Peak the following weekend. Please warm up at the Quad @ 8:25am and meet your coach to head up for your warm up run and inspection of the course when it’s ready.
Parent volunteers, thank you so much for your help last Sunday in the rain! We will need your help again to set up the B-Netting in the AM on Saturday. Please meet up at the Pump House at the top of Lower Alley Cat when the Quad opens. Since we will train SL on Sunday on Lower Alley Cat, we will leave the fencing up overnight. We can really use your help on Sunday at 12 Noon to break down the course and B-Netting.

Looking forward to seeing you all!
