The Catamount Race Team SYNC team gear page is up and ready. You can order directly from the link below and receive your order in early November. The current order deadline is set for October 10th, 2019. We have once again added some layering options this year, as well as a boot bag.  Everything is discounted.

Tri-State weekday training options

John Borwick (Head Coach for Berkshire School) is planning weekday training at Catamount and wanted to know if any of our Tri-State racers were interested.

The current plan is for training on Alley Cat on Monday and Tuesday March 11th and 12th (3/11-12). Training would go from 9am to 11:30am and would require athletes to help set and breakdown. Plans are also in the works for March 18th, 19th (and/or 20th), again morning sessions.

The postseason is a great time to work on polishing those skills acquired throughout the season. Everything is fresh in your mind, there is less pressure and everyone is in great skiing great shape.

Please email Pat and I so we can relay the information to John and Steve ASAP. They will finalize plans.

Tristate U16’s Beast GS Saturday (update!)

A quick note to parents: we were notified by Berkshire East that the start time may be delayed to 10am to allow the mountain more time to prepare the surface. Registration opens up by 7:30a and gets crowded quickly. Athletes can load the lift by 8:15a, so plan accordingly.

We are expecting a machine groomed trail with snow/freezing rain possible and temperatures around 32F. Please tune appropriately. Recommendation from Toko below:

Information for parents regarding SafeSport

This info is primarily for parents of Tri-State athletes but it is available and important for all.

US Ski & Snowboard now requires all the coaches and volunteers to complete a background screening and also to complete a course administered by the US Center for SafeSport. Catamount coaches are no exceptions and they have taken the training.

Recently, the US Center for SafeSport also published a Parent Toolkit to help you understand how best to help your child understand and identify Physical, Emotional and Sexual Abuse. The toolkit also outlines what to do if you suspect something is wrong.

The toolkit is very extensive. It is broken down into sections based on a child’s age and how best to deal with discussing these issues based on their age. We suggest you read through the full booklet but at a minimum the sections that apply to you and your children. The information in the booklet is not only applicable to ski racing or Catamount but really applicable to any difficult situation a child could end up in. It is a great resource for parents.

If you have any questions, there are multiple resources at the end of the booklet that can help.

U14 Championship Qualifiers

Thank you for waiting patiently! We finally have the names of the qualifiers for the U14 Tri-State Championships held March 3rd and 4th at Berkshire East. Congratulations to our racers for their accomplishment, we are very proud to send such a strong group of racers. From here, Eastern and Piche Qualifiers will be determined. U16 Championships Schedule

All,

We look forward to seeing everyone at Bousquet for the race tomorrow. A note went out confirming the venue and schedule but some may not have received it:

This message is to inform you that no change has been made to the program OR location of the U16 Championship Event this weekend. Tristate will host the U16 Championship Slalom at Bousquet Saturday, Feb 25th and the U16 Championship Giant Slalom, Sunday Feb 26th at Jiminy Peak ski area.
