Parents Meeting

Greetings Catamount Inter Club Parents,
After a prolonged an unexpected delay to the 2016 race season, we are up and running (skiing) on all cylinders. The most recent tally puts us at 102 registered IC racers. I believe another handful joined the ranks this past weekend. If you are new to the program this season, I’m sure their are questions and concerns rumbling around within you that need to be answered regarding race day protocol. To help alleviate some of the angst, we would like to invite new parents to an information/chat session this coming Saturday. We will gather in the room immediately to the right upon entering the Taconic, @ 11:30. If your racer is planning to compete @ Blandford this coming Sunday, she/he will need a USSA competitor registration number. This process should be completed immediately, if not already done so.
Thanks.
John Greaser

U12-14 training tomorrow

Hi U12-U14 Racers!

Great work today! We saw lots of improvement in the stubbies “shinning” gates, in the angled gates learning how to “clear” and even applying it in the training course. I just finished communicating with the other coaches and we are again limited to training on Catamount. There will be a GS course set in the am and pm for those who would like to switch to GS. But there will also be SL training on upper Catamount in the am only. If you’d like, bring your SL skis, chin and shin guards for the morning and GS skis for the pm. We will make it your choice. Remember to remove your chin guard for GS training.

See you in the am,

Coach Pat

START OF SEASON

We are finally starting the season and we are starting fast. We will have practice this weekend and we also have races. There is a U19 SL race at Berkshire East this Saturday 1/9, which is also open to U16’s. Recognizing the limited training they will have some pre-race SL training set up. They will also have some post race GS training, as U16’s have a GS race there this Sunday 1/10. BEAST has made some big moves to help TARA racers. There is also a TriState U12-14 SL race at Butternut on Sunday 1/10. This is tough without training but the schedules for all the age groups and USSA Championships do not provide flexibility. The first Interclub race has been rescheduled for 1/24, Thanks Blandford.

So please ensure USSA registrations and Catamount registrations are all in order. As A lot of snowmaking this week is allowing for the races to take place, so please check the TriState website for updates.

Registrations are now happening on line, you can link in on the TriState web site. This includes interclub, which is a major change, so we can speed up race day process.
